3-Dimensional Services Group Helps Stock the Shelves at Children’s Center of Detroit

3-Dimensional Services Group, a leading prototype and low-volume production firm continues to show that it’s also a leader in its support of those in need. The company’s employees recently raised well over $1,000 in cash and “goods” in a week-long food drive to help stock the shelves of the Children’s Center of Detroit. The Children’s Center is an organization that helps children and their families shape their own future and navigate the challenges of life. Founded in 1929 by Senator James Couzens, the Center provides a spectrum of strength-based family programs that deal with issues surrounding abuse and neglect, behavior, child development and delinquency.

Keith Chene, chief financial officer at 3-Dimensional Services was not surprised at the involvement and spirit of the employees, “Our employees are great people and they really care about children. We’re so happy that we can do our part.” Chene added, “We work with a lot of deserving charities, but the Children’s Center has a special place in our hearts.”

Chene went on to say that the effort would not have gone as smoothly as it did without the involvement of Laura Rea, 3-Dimensional Services director of human resources. Rea spearheaded the food drive and the employee gift participation.

The 3-Dimensional Services Group, consisting of 3-Dimensional Services, Urgent Plastic Services, Urgent Design & Manufacturing and 3-Dimensional Services-Europe, has earned a reputation for building functional prototype parts and low-volume production parts 50 to 70% faster than conventional prototype shops.
